Solar energy

Solar energy is currently the most popular and sought-after source of renewable energy. With a roof system, you don’t have to worry about rising electricity prices because sunlight is always free.

What are the benefits of installing solar panels?

Types of solar panels

The main component of solar panels, or solar cells, are silicon photocells. The more popular solar panels are made using monocrystalline or polycrystalline silicon technology.

Baltic Industrial highly values the quality of the offered products and services, as well as the warranty. We offer the highest level of customer service to help find the perfect solution. Monocrystalline solar panels are the most effective in the Baltic climate zone, thanks to high efficiency and power indicators, favorable price and convenient dimensions.

Monocrystalline Panels

In the latitudes of the Baltic countries, monocrystalline solar panels are more advantageous as they produce more electricity even in poor weather conditions – rainy or cloudy weather, compared to polycrystalline panels.

Polycrystalline Solar Batteries

Generally, polycrystalline panels are more commonly used worldwide because their production costs are lower, but monocrystalline panels are about 10% more powerful In our latitudes, polycrystalline panels are used less frequently.

Solar panels can also be easily distinguished by color. Monocrystalline panels are almost black, while polycrystalline panels are distinctly blue. The main factor to consider when choosing the type of solar panel is efficiency – which can produce more while occupying less roof space. The efficiency rating of monocrystalline solar panels can reach up to 22%. By comparison, the efficiency rating of polycrystalline panels hovers around 15%.

Solar stations

Grid-Tied Solar Station (ON-GRID)

The most popular system for households, consisting of solar panels and a grid inverter. The generated electricity first goes to the electrical devices that are turned on at that moment. If there is a surplus, i.e., it cannot be used all at once, it is transferred to the electrical grid. This grid-stored electricity can be used during the cold months of the year through the NET metering system.

Autonomous Solar Station or Off-Grid Solar Station (OFF-GRID)

Autonomous solar panel systems can be used in places where there is no electricity. Such systems require a battery to store the electricity that is not used immediately.

Hybrid Solar Station (HYBRID)

This system is a combination of the previously mentioned systems. In hybrid or combined systems, batteries are also used in parallel with grid connection. The electrical energy that is not immediately used is stored in the batteries, and then, once the batteries are full, the energy can be transferred to the grid. Mostly, the energy stored in the batteries can be used primarily during dark times.
